Sterling Newman topped the four-team field in Thursday’s boys track meet at Kewanee’s Breedlove-Petersen track. The Comets tallied 106 points, followed by the host Boilers 66, Erie-Prophetstown 49 and Fulton 41.

The Kewanee Boilermakers settled for fourth place and the Wethersfield Flying Geese won the seventh-place game on the final day of the Warkins Cardinal Classic. The Boilers dropped a 56-54 heartbreaker to the host Cardinals in the third-place game, while Wethersfield knocked off Stockton 55-44.
