BRATTLEBORO — Many older outdoor wood-fired boilers that are not certified to meet Vermont’s emissions standards are required by law to be permanently retired by the end of 2012. They include boilers that are located within 200 feet of a residence, school or healthcare facility, which are not serviced by the boiler.
