At one point the Indiana Hoosiers came within three points of stealing the lead away from Purdue. By game’s end, the Hoosiers were felled by more than 20 points.

The Boilers led 15-9 midway through the first half when the Mastodons went ice cold. They scored only three points in the last 9:20 'til the break, all on free throws, as they missed five field goals and had 11 turnovers.
